120 Year-Old Timber Cottage

In a hidden pocket of Noosaville, just a stone’s throw from the river, is this charming 120 year-old timber cottage.

Constructed as a school house at the turn of the 20th century, it was transported by rail to Cooran, and then by horse and wagon to Kin Kin in 1920, where it was re-erected as the Wahpunga School house, with 11 students across several grades.

It was purchased and relocated to the current site in 1961 as the home of the Armitage family, who are central to Noosa’s early history, and stayed in the family until sold to the current owners in 2012.

Today, this is a super cute bohemian style cottage perched in an elevated position between Noosa Waters and the Noosa River foreshore, a whole 4 minute stroll to the Noosa Yacht Club.

The French doors to the front deck reflect the original style of the building, while the hand sawn floorboards reveal the age and history of this character filled home.

This is a one-off.

It is an absolute treasure to those who seek character and love in a home, or an opportunity for a new rebuild for those who value location above all else.
