Famous as much for its trophy homes and record-breaking prices recently achieved as it is for its celebrity residents, sensational restaurants in the local village, and the stunning surf beach.

Collectively called the Eastern Beaches, this monumental stretch of white beach with rolling sets of surf from the Pacific Ocean starts at the cliff face of Lions Head in Noosa National Park and runs for kilometres south as far as the eye can see, becoming Sunrise Beach, then Castaways Beach, Marcus, Peregian Beach and then Coolum Beach.

Sunshine Beach is the largest residential enclave and most prominent of all due to its local shopping village, eateries and surf club.

The Sunshine Beach Village restaurants include Masterchef contestant Matt Sinclair’s Sum Young Guys, XO, Fraterlini, the Deck, the Burger Bar and the award winning Costa Noosa coffee roasters.

The social heart of Sunshine Beach is The Sunshine Beach Surf Life Saving Club with nippers programs, life-saving training and active volunteer patrols.

Sunshine Beach is also home to the popular state primary and high schools, where surfing is a legitimate subject.

Trophy homes adorn the cliff face and beach front, but prices are less daunting a few streets back. A mix of zoning allows for duplex sites and apartments.
